Congregational Resourcing Event (CRE)

The 2019 CRE will be Saturday March 9 at Kishwaukee Community College in Malta.

Keynote speaker will be the Rev. Dave Daubert, a second career pastor - first working as an engineer. A well known speaker, teacher and consultant, Dave is also a parish pastor at Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin, IL. With experience in the parish, as a denominational executive, a seminary professor, and consultant, he is able to speak from a wide variety of perspectives to a wide audience about church renewal, leadership, and the faith of the church in today's world. Dave is the lead consultant for Day 8 Strategies and works with mainline, socially conscious and progressive churches all across the United States and Canada.

Sponsored by the Northern Illinois Synod Congregational Life Committee, the Congregational Resourcing Event (CRE) is one of this synod’s finest yearly events. Church council members, teachers, musicians, staff, volunteers, and leaders - just about everyone in a congregation - can take advantage of this learning event to strengthen skills, gather resources, network with others, and discover new ways to enhance congregational and individual ministries. Come, experience and bring home new ministry tools. The Congregational Resourcing Event offers many varied educational workshop selections for you, your key congregational leaders, and other interested congregation members. Many groups, agencies, and institutions have displays. Supervised child care in Kishwaukee College’s on-campus Early Childhood Center is provided with pre-registration. A free-will offering will be accepted to cover child-care costs.
