A reception in her honor is planned for July 19, 1:30 to 3:30pm at the NIS office, 103 W. State St., Rockford.
She will be joining us following time at the United Nations.

Faustina Nillan serves as the National Director for Women and Children in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) Headquarters. Her work focuses on vulnerable groups of women and children who are marginalized and susceptible within the church and community at large. Her passion is empowering women and girls economically, politically and socially to accomplish their desired dreams. She works closely with the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Women in Church and Society Desk. Ms. Nillan also leads the LWF Task Force on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 5) on achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls, under the Waking the Giant pilot project in Tanzania.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Gender and Development from the institute of Community Development and previously worked with World Vision Tanzania as Sponsorship Officer in the Eastern zone, Korogwe Tanga.
Ms. Nillan is married to Osiligi Losai and blessed with three children.
