Congratulations to the 64 synods, six seminaries, and three churchwide organizations that passed the 65% participation goal. Because enough of your eligible plan members took the Mayo Clinic health assessment, you saved a collective $2.5 million on health care contributions. Thank you for paying attention to your well-being — and saving money for the church.
ELCA employers, such as congregations, seminaries, and other organizations, can earn a 2% discount on the current year’s ELCA health contributions if 65% or more of the ELCA-Primary health plan members and eligible spouses within a synod, seminary, or churchwide ministry take the online Mayo Clinic health assessment between Jan. 1 and April 30 of that year.
The 2% discount on health contributions is offered by Portico Benefit Services to reward employers for encouraging their sponsored plan members and their spouses with ELCA-Primary health benefits to take the Mayo Clinic health assessment.
What does it mean to you? Since our synod earned the 2% discount, your congregation will save 2% on its Portico health contributions for the entire year.
