Cambridge, Cambridge Community VBS

“Maker Fun Factory, Created by GOD Built for a Purpose” was the theme for the Community Vacation Bible School.

This year it was our turn to host VBS. We had 22-25 kids every day. The children learned that God made us for a purpose and he will always be with us know matter what. We can depend on him.

Each day we were visited by Dave (played by Pastor David Joyce) the world’s greatest inventor. He was trying to make a neat gift for his mother’s birthday. The children helped him overcome his disappointments and make the greatest gift ever.

The children did crafts provided by the Methodist Church coordinator Linda Harp, bible study by Pastor Randy and snacks provided by the Baptist Church coordinated by Marlah Powell & Verl Vinstrand. We had wonderful help from the members of the Osco church Cecilia Streight and Jamie Smutzer. Courtney Finch handled registration. The children brought items for the Cambridge Food Pantry each evening.

A big Thanks to Shelly Wexell for drawing the characters for VBS. Thanks to the Preemption Methodist church that passed on their decorations to Orion then Galesburg and then to us. They really helped to make our sanctuary look great!!
