DESCRIPTION:You are invited to Faithful Listening\, Bold Proclamation\, a t
hree-part series of interactive Zoom workshops facilitated by ELCA pastor
and Womanist theologian Rev. Sharei Green. The workshops will be held on T
 hursdays\, September 24\, October 1\, and October 8\, at 6 p.m. Central Ti
me. Participants may attend one\, two\, or all three sessions\, with each
workshop offering independent content.\nPresented through the ELCA’s Tra
nsformed Listeners Initiative\, the series is designed for preachers and p
roclaimers—both lay and rostered leaders—seeking to deepen the practic
e of listening to themselves\, their communities\, and God. Through faithf
ul listening\, leaders can strengthen their capacity to proclaim the Good
News in ways that speak to the realities of a tired and weary world.\nEach
participatory session will include small-group conversation and discussio
 n centered on a different theme:\n\nSeptember 24 — Community (2 hours):
How we relate to community\, self-care as community practice\, and meaning
ful conversations.\nOctober 1 — Gospel (1½ hours): The Gospel as narrat
ives of oppressed communities\, lamentation\, and communal proclamation.\n
 October 8 — Kin-dom (2 hours): Exploring Kin-dom\, prophets and proclama
tion\, and creating together.\n\nRev. Sharei Green is an ordained ELCA min
 ister\, Womanist theologian\, and co-author of God’s Holy Darkness\, a c
hildren’s book that challenges anti-Blackness in Christian theology by c
elebrating biblical images of darkness\, blackness\, and night as beautifu
l\, good\, and holy. Her ministry is particularly committed to creating sp
aces for community healing and sabbath.\nListening is more than a communic
ation skill\; it is part of our vocation as people called to love and acco
mpany our neighbors. These workshops offer leaders an opportunity to liste
n more intentionally—to community\, to experiences different from their
own\, and to the movement of God—and to consider how that listening shap
es faithful proclamation.\nRegistration is open for any or all three sessi
 ons.
