Pastor Gary Erickson, Assistant to the Bishop – Outreach and Stewardship and Director for Evangelical Mission invites Northern Illinois Synod pastoral leaders to participate in a six-session journey, “Stewardship First Steps,” beginning Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 9 a.m. via the Zoom remote meeting platform. The remaining sessions will be on February 11, February 25, March 25, April 22, and May 13.

In many congregations, congregational culture stands in sharp opposition to best stewardship practices (i.e. talking about money or asking people to give). Stewardship First Steps gives pastoral leaders the tools and support needed to begin a journey towards a healthy stewardship culture. Small initial steps build confidence and momentum in the pastoral leader for more significant congregational steps in the future.

Through the six one-hour sessions, participants will experience learning that will lead to practice in the congregation and which will then will be able to shared with the other participants, their cohort, at the next session.

“Stewardship First Steps” will be led by Peter Reuss of GSBFundraising of Rochester, Minnesota. The brochure, with complete information including the schedule and topics is found below.

The cost of this program is $362.00. If this cost prevents a pastoral leader from participating, please contact Pastor Erickson at GErickson@nisynod.org.   If you have questions about this opportunity, you may contact Pastor Erickson with those as well.
