…for family and friends of Pr. Gerald Larson who died December 30

Dear Friends,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  It is with sadness that I report to you the death of Rev. Gerald V. Larson on Sunday, December 30, 2018.

Pastor Larson was born September 17, 1934, in Pennock, Minnesota, and married Judith Rasmussen on June 6, 1958.  Pastor Larson graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota in 1956.  He later graduated from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1960.

Pastor Larson was ordained June 26, 1960, by the United Evangelical Lutheran Church and began his ministry at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Berlin, New Hampshire, from 1960-1965. Next, he was called to serve at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Racine, Wisconsin, from 1965-1984.  Next, he was called to serve at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Rockford, Illinois, from 1984-1999. Pastor Larson retired in 2000.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Rockford, Illinois with Visitation preceding the services beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church.

As the church we offer our sympathy to his family and friends and because of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we rejoice in God’s promise of eternal life, comfort, and hope.
