Learning, thinking and living into a deeper and more vibrant faith – Vitality Workshop

A congregational vitality initiative in the Northern Illinois Synod

Please pray and consider joining us for the congregational vitality initiative. This multi-session congregational coaching process helps congregations develop tools for mission and ministry. Bring a congregation vitality team of 4 (or more!).

The process begins with faith that God has already given us all we need for Christ’s mission in the world. Through coaching, conversation, delving into seven faith practices, and working on a project in your own congregation we will discover ways to build faith and vitality in your faith community.

A vitality workshop will be held on April 27 from 9:30 am until 2:00 pm at United, Rockford, 3630 N. Rockton Ave. Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend this workshop.

Dr. Craig Nessan of Wartburg Seminary will be our featured speaker. Your time will be well rewarded as you pray and consider involving your congregation in the synod’s vitality initiative.

The next gathering of vitality teams will be Saturday, May 11, 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with lunch following. We’ll meet at Grace Lutheran Church, Woodstock, IL.

Rostered leaders and three lay leaders from your congregation make up your vitality team. It is understood that not everyone can be present at every meeting, so it is hoped that at least one member of your vitality team can take the learning home after each gathering.

How do you participate? Send an email to gerickson@nisynod.org and let me know you are attending with your team. Please let me know that you are coming no later than  April 24 Materials and a detailed outline will be given at the workshop on April 27.

Together we can build faith and vitality in our congregations.
