Pr. Kurt Nordby, Assistant to the Bishop for Stewardship and Development for the past 10 years retired at the end of January 2019.
Kurt served the last 10 years of almost 43 years of ministry on the staff of the Northern Illinois Synod. He considered it a “joy and blessing to work with exceptional colleagues on the Northern Illinois Synod staff.”
Kurt especially enjoyed getting to know the congregations and people of the Northern Illinois Synod. “It was a great privilege to share in the ministry of proclaiming God’s love and grace in Christ.”
Over the years he worked diligently with congregations under development, two of which were received as congregations of the Northern Illinois Synod. He also wrote and developed multiple stewardship resources for our congregations including “First We Give of Ourselves” and “Growing as Disciples and Stewards.”
As Kurt looks forward to retirement, he wants to encourage congregations to realize that “Stewardship is fun! After all, it’s all about God’s gift of life-transforming love and grace in Jesus Christ.”
Many thanks for sharing your ministry with us, Kurt. Peace and blessings to you as you enjoy your retirement.
