Northern Illinois Synod congregations show leadership in providing an opportunity to discuss difficult issues!
“Courageous Conversations About Race,” a 6-week series at St. John Lutheran Church, Joliet, raised awareness for members and volunteers of how race impacts our relationships in the congregation, the community and beyond.
These conversations inspire them to live out their biblical call to love their neighbor.
The St. John food pantry team had new awakenings to welcome the stranger - whether volunteer or hungry neighbor.
Requiring courage to face their own vulnerability and blind spots, they grew closer in their relationships together.
As Pastor Robin Caldwell said, “God is with us as we live out the Good News!”
