The final lap in the $100,000 Synod Challenge to support ELCA World Hunger:
Does it prove that I’m a church nerd to say a 2025 highlight was attending the Northern Illinois Synod Assembly. We shared that all gifts for ELCA World Hunger given through the Synod by early October will be matched until we reach $100,000.
How are we doing? As of this week we have gifts and commitments of over $70,000 toward the $100,000 challenge – and just two months to go before the opportunity expires. Thank you to all congregations and individuals who have been so generous. Thank you for those who are planning activities supporting ELCA World Hunger as we move into the school year.
If you are inspired to help. please give through a congregation of the Synod for ELCA World Hunger. God knows, and we know as well how important the church is right now, instilling hope. As support from governments and others is drying up for world changing – life saving work in this country and around the world; the ELCA aims to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Your support is essential – and until early October will be doubly important.
