Pastor Julie Monnard and Northern Illinois Synod staff are hoping to create a new synod banner to use at Synod Assembly. This will become a beautiful piece of collaborative art – a sign of us working together to share God’s love.
The new synod banner will have the ELCA logo pieced together with fabric donated by congregations.
Each congregation is asked to donate a piece of cotton fabric based on your conference:
- Northwest and Central: Red
- West and Southwest: Green
- North and Northeast: Blue
- East and South: Yellow
Please donate a piece of quiliting cotton fabric in your assigned color. This could be a layer cake sqaure (10" x 10"), a jelly roll strip (2.5" x 42"), or four charm squares (5" x 5").
Fabric can be hand delivered to synod staff at monthly clergy conference meetings or at the Congregational Resourceing Event in May. They can also be mailed to the synod office. Please have all fabric pieces donated by March 16th at CRE.
