We’re Moving!
The Northern Illinois Synod is excited to announce that our Rock Island office will be relocating to 1330 13th St Moline, IL 61625. We will be sharing space with the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church.
This move comes with gratitude for the hospitality that Augustana College has shown throughout our tenure of having office space on their historic campus. “Our partnership with Augustana has been a tremendous gift to the Northern Illinois Synod. We have been rooted together in the Augustana tradition, and the college has been a vital partner in our ministry,” remarks Bishop Stacie Fidlar.
The need for a larger office space that accommodates local synod staff and small group gatherings invited the staff to explore new spaces with like-minded mission partners.
Trinity Lutheran Church has been seeking a new partnership to utilize their space that connects them with the larger Church and deepens their relationship in the community. Their leadership views the opportunity for partnership in building use as an innovative step for future ministry possibilities. Trinity graciously offered four rooms in one wing of their building to become the new offices for Northern Illinois Synod as part of their mission and ministry. The move allows our staff to work as needed and to be grounded in a place that provides opportunities for further engagement in local congregations. Bishop Stacie shares in Trinity’s excitement, “I am excited to be grounded again in the rhythm of congregational life and ministry. This new partnership gives the Northern Illinois Synod the opportunity to be both hosted and host as we consider ways this new space can serve the entire synod.”
Having a new office will not change the way in which the synod functions. Most of our staff will continue to work remotely; Bishop Fidlar and Rev. Josh Ebener, our Director for Evangelical Mission, will have office space at Trinity. As part of our call to be good stewards of our creation and time, meetings will continue to be conducted online and in hybrid formats, allowing us to gather across the Northern Illinois Synod together.
As we continue to explore how we are the body of Christ in the world together, we are excited about this new adventure and the new possibilities that will come out of this partnership.
