The Rostered Ministers Continuing Education group is pleased to announce the Fall 2022 event presenter: The Rev. Wil Gafney, Ph.D. This event will take place on Monday, October 17, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Joliet, IL.
Dr. Gafney is a womanist biblical scholar and the Right Rev. Sam B. Hulsey Professor Hebrew Bible at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Rostered Ministers Continuing Education group is pleased to announce the Fall 2022 event “A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church” with presenter the Rev. Wil Gafney, Ph.D. This event will take place on Monday, October 17, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, 2650 Plainfield Road, Joliet IL 60435. Dr. Gafney is a womanist biblical scholar and the Right Rev. Sam B. Hulsey Professor Hebrew Bible at Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas. “A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church” will focus towards equipping ministerial leaders with both the scholarship and practical suggestions and tools to use the Womanist lectionary in our ministerial contexts.
This event is a one-day workshop that will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
This event has a tiered registration fee in hope that “A Women’s Lectionary for the Whole Church” can be accessible to all interested parties. On the registration form (below), you will find several options in terms of cost. Please choose the option that works best for you.
- Tier A—$135: The Tier A cost of $135 will cover the actual cost of the event, including lunch, and will also contribute a portion of this fee to support someone else’s participation.
- Tier B—$110: The Tier B cost of $110 will cover the actual cost of the event, including speaker, snacks, lunch, etc.
- Tier C—$85: The Tier C cost of $85 will contribute to the cost of the event and is partially subsidized by donations from supporters* and those who choose the Tier A option.
- Tier D—$60: The Tier D cost of $60 will contribute to the cost of the event and is more fully subsidized by donations from supporters* and those who choose the Tier A option.
