Assist congregations of the Synod to learn, think and live Jesus’ life, death and resurrection to build faithful and vital Christian communities.
New Ministries – Vital congregations try new things. The committee offers small grants for congregations willing to test new ministry ideas.
Vitality Resources for Congregations - Resources for congregations focusing on learning, thinking and living into Jesus’ promise of abundant life are available through the Director for Evangelical Mission. Congregational Resourcing Event and Synod Assembly are some opportunities for sharing resources.
Ecumenism – Build awareness of and assist in participation with ecumenical happenings, such as Week of Prayer.
Congregational Vitality Survey – The survey assists congregations in developing mission and ministry strategies.
Attend all committee meetings.
At present the Outreach Committee meets four times a year on Saturdays. Meeting months may vary but tend to be in January, April, September and November.
Workshops and training events - regional and national. At our meetings we all work together to assist subcommittees, synodical staff related to Outreach, and each other.
The people on the committee feel a strong interest and enthusiasm for mission and outreach of the Church.
Congregation-based evangelistic outreach ministries and discipleship led by lay leaders and pastor-supported teams to engage and possibly worship with people outside the walls of the church. These are congregation-based and centered in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through intentional, invitational discipleship and/or outreach ministries located in congregations.
