First Lutheran Church is a faith community focused on wonderful worship, liturgy, music, prayer, sacraments, studying God's Word, and mission. Come join us.

We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, a congregation of Northern Illinois Synod, and a partner in ministry in Rockford Area Lutheran Ministries and Midtown Lutheran Parish.
We have the great pleasure to be home for the Music Academy of Rockford, and to have a fine Concert Series called "Sounds in the Sanctuary" as well as the gifted musicians of the Music Academy to share their musical talents with us and our community.
We host a community Bible Study at Katie's Cup on Tuesdays at 1:00 PM but currently have suspended that due to COVID.

Service Times

We have Sunday School at 9:15 AM on Sunday mornings, September thru May, and worship at 10:30 AM with Holy Communion every worship service, as well as anointing for healing on the third Sunday of the month. During this time of COVID we offer worship services on Facebook and YouTube.
