Keynote Speaker: Jessica Noonan

Jessica Noonan is passionate about cultivating faith leaders who are grounded in the spiritual practices of listening and storytelling. She believes that by regularly engaging in these practices we are more deeply connected with God and with our neighbor which leads us to break down the walls that separate us from one another. Jessica has served in professional congregational, synodical, and churchwide ministry for over 25 years. In 2023 completed her masters work at Luther Seminary. Jessica is an ordained deacon in the ELCA and serves her call as Co-Director at LEAD.

 

Churchwide Representative: Rahel Williams

Rahel Mwitula-Williams is the Director for Innovation and Idea with the ELCA, having previously served as the Director of Global Mission Funding. Born and raised in Tanzania, East Africa, she migrated to the USA with her family at the age of 12. Rahel is a member of Shekinah Chapel Lutheran Church, where her husband, Jason Williams, serves as a pastor.

Rahel's expertise lies in crafting unforgettable journeys, drawing upon her deep knowledge of East Africa and her passion for creating enriching experiences. Her roots in Tanzania provide an insider's perspective, allowing her to showcase the hidden gems and cultural wonders of the region.

In addition to her role at the ELCA and ILAVA, Rahel is a nonprofit development executive specializing in working with major donors both in the United States and internationally. She firmly believes in breaking down socioeconomic barriers to giving and collaborates with individuals, teams, and organizations to foster a culture and lifestyle of philanthropy.

Churchwide Representative: Becca Payne

Becca has spent nearly a decade at the ELCA Churchwide Organization, in multiple roles across Development and Innovation. She now serves as the Program Director for the Congregations Lead Initiative. Through the Congregations Lead Initiative, the ELCA is equipping and inspiring congregations with innovation and design-thinking tools to spark a renewal of congregational ministry and community partnerships to create adaptable, relevant, and resilient faith communities. To date, this initiative has worked with approximately 75 congregations across 31 synods. When not at work, you can find her trying out a new recipe, planning her next picnic at the Ravinia Festival, or playing Dungeons & Dragons.
