Our current goals are
Increase the number of NIS congregations with companion parish relationship in our Companion Synods/Dioceses, the North Central Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania and the Arcot Lutheran Church of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, India.
Use Synod events such as Synod Assembly and the Congregational Resourcing Event to let members of the NIS know how they can be involved in Global Mission.
Be involved in the planning of visits to and visits from members of our Companion Synod/Dioceses.
The Global Mission Committee encourages and supports the ELCA model of Accompaniment in all our relationships with Christians around the world.
Members should know these additional things about the committee
The committee generally meets four times per year. Currently all meetings are held via Zoom.
